The World Health Organization (WHO) defines Anaemia as a condition in which the number of red blood cells or the haemoglobin concentration within them is lower than normal. Haemoglobin is needed to carry oxygen and if you have too few or abnormal red blood cells, or not enough haemoglobin, there will be a decreased capacity of the blood to carry oxygen to the body’s tissues.
Anemia causes fatigue and loss of energy, rapid heartbeat, particularly with exercise, shortness of breath and headache, difficulty concentrating, dizziness, leg cramps

Our current focus is on non-invasive anaemia screening. We developed a deep learning technology that predicts the Haemoglobin almost as accurately and reliably when compared to invasive point of care devices. The technology will be made available as a mobile application that enables fast and easy non-invasive screening for anaemia at a population level.
